Move more, Sit less

We all struggle with motivation and have our own path when it comes to changing or improving health behaviours. Take exercise.....


The biggest reason people say they don't exercise is because they don't have "time".


But what if there was a solution for that?


Think about this...you brush your teeth twice a day (maybe more)...if that takes 2 minutes morning and night, that's 4 minutes.


What if you spent just 4 minutes more taking care of the rest of your body?


How about an "activity snack?"


Short bursts of movement throughout the day.


An "activity snack" can be as little as 30 seconds!!


What if you chose 3 exercises to do that would take you less than 10 minutes a day?


Do something to get your heart rate up, something to strengthen your muscles!


It doesn't even have to be 4 minutes in a row!!


What if you moved for:


1 minute when you woke up

1 minute mid morning

1 minute at lunch time

1 minute in the afternoon....


Small things add up to make a big difference!


What if you did 5 wall pushes in the kitchen waiting for the water to boil?


Some push ups on your kitchen counter?


What if you did 5 squats after you brushed your teeth?


If you are work, get up from sitting and do a little "dance" break!


Anyone can do this.


You don't have to do sprints to see results.


This is accessible to ANYONE at ANY fitness level because you can apply the principle of "small bursts" to save time and see amazing health benefits!


Just like snacks are like a small meal needed to meet the need for food and nutrition in between meals, activity snacks can help meet activity needs and can be done in small increments.


What if you started to implement this in your life today....


Think about this new strategy.....short bursts of activity can add up over the course of the day and help you towards achieving your goal!
